Two new offerings from Maruti – Escudo and e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki has planned two big car launches for this festive season:
- Maruti Escudo: It will be a mid-size SUV that will be slightly more affordable than the Grand Vitara. Its engine, platform and many features will be similar to Grand Vitara, but the price will be kept slightly lower so that more and more people can buy it.
- Maruti e Vitara: This will be a fully electric SUV with 49kWh and 61kWh battery options. The company claims that its range will be more than 500 kilometers, which is a great thing in a country like India.
Both these models are expected to be launched between September and October.
Kia Carens Clavis EV – The new face of family EV
Kia is going to launch its Carens Clavis EV in July 2025. It will be a family MPV but fully electric. It is likely that the powertrain of Hyundai Creta EV will be seen in it – that is, 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs.
Since the Carens EV is larger than the Creta in size, its range may be slightly different. Its exterior and interior will also get some changes according to the EV like digital instrument cluster, aerodynamic design and new infotainment unit.
MG M9 and Cyberster – The world of luxury and performance
JSW MG Motor India is also going to launch two special vehicles:
- MG M9: A luxury electric MPV. It has a 90kWh battery and it is claimed that this car can give a range of 430 km.
This is a great option for those who have a big family or who want both comfort and space.
Its booking has already started. - MG Cyberster: An electric sports car that looks very futuristic and has a 77kWh battery. It has a range of 580 km, and it can prove to be a dream for those who want high speed.
Both vehicles will be available through MG Select dealerships, i.e. they target the premium segment.
Tata’s full attack – Punch Facelift, Sierra, Harrier and Safari Petrol

Tata Motors has geared up to make this year more special. It is preparing for four big launches:
- Tata Punch Facelift: It will get minor cosmetic changes like new grille, headlamps and slightly updated interior. The engine will remain the same.
- Tata Sierra: This is one of the most awaited SUVs from Tata. It will be launched in all three versions – petrol, diesel and electric. It will be reminiscent of the old Sierra but in a completely new avatar.
- Harrier and Safari (Petrol): Both these vehicles are already available in diesel variants but now Tata will introduce them with 170PS, 1.5L TGDi petrol engine. This will also strengthen Tata’s petrol segment.
Mahindra’s two big preparations – XUV3XO EV and Bolero Neo Facelift
Mahindra is also not behind in this festive season. The company is going to launch two important ones:
- Mahindra XUV3XO EV: This will be the company’s compact electric SUV and it can be like the electric version of XUV300. It is expected to have 40-45kWh battery and 350-400km range.
- Bolero Neo Facelift: This updated SUV will be launched on 15 August 2025. There will be many changes in the interior and exterior but the engine will probably remain the same. It will now be offered in a more stylish and youthful tone.
Facelift version of Renault Kiger and Triber
Renault is also going to update its popular vehicles Kiger and Triber. Both the vehicles will get new color options, LED headlamps, and slightly modern interior. However, their engines will remain the same old:
- 1.0L NA Petrol – 72bhp
- 1.0L Turbo Petrol – 100bhp
Both these vehicles can be launched between September and October.
Conclusion – What to do, what to buy?
If you are planning to buy a car, then this is the right time. Whether you want an electric car, or a petrol/diesel SUV – you have options in every segment.
New customers, families, young buyers, commercial use, or those interested in EVs – there is definitely a car for everyone in the coming months.
Some important advice
- Book before the launch so that you can avail introductory offers.
- The price does not increase much in facelift models, but the features are better.
- Before buying an EV, consider its range, characteristics, etc. Be sure to check charging time and charging station availability.
